This mystery novel revolves around Woodside Manor which had been the Secretan's home for three hundred years. Mr. Secretan and his sister, Ada, live in this haunted manor. A wing of the great house, now fallen partly into disuse, contained the Haunted Chamber. There is a story attached to the Hunted Chamber, and it scares the people of the neighbourhood.
