The Golden Sayings of Epictetus is a modern selection from the writings of Epictetus, compiled and translated by Hastings Crossley. It contains more than 180 sayings of Epictetus on various topics. Epictetus was a Greek Stoic philosopher. He taught that philosophy is a way of life and not just a theoretical discipline. To Epictetus, all external events are beyond our control and we should accept calmly and dispassionately whatever happens.
