The novel Emancipated is a proclamation of freedom amid the buttoned-up Victorian society. It tells of a young widowed English woman traveling through Italy. She finds out that rigid and flinty English behave quite differently abroad. In Naples, passion rules over reason, and the beautiful young widow starts a new life. But, will it be different upon returning home?
